Finding Beauty in Music
with Dr. Elizabeth Grimpo, Professor of Music

Elizabeth Grimpo is professor of music at Concordia University, Nebraska. She teaches four levels of Aural Skills courses, Music Appreciation, Beauty in Music and the Fine Arts, and private piano lessons. She collaborates with the top choirs on campus, regularly performing and touring with them. She performs with student musicians on a variety of recitals each semester. She also organizes and leads an annual Piano Day for high school pianists. In 2015, she received the student nominated Teacher of the Year award at the commencement ceremony. In 2023, she was inducted into the Steinway Teacher Hall of Fame in New York City.
In addition to teaching, Grimpo regularly appears as a soloist, performing major works from the classical repertoire as well as newly composed piano pieces based on sacred tunes. She also regularly collaborates and performs with professional musicians in the area.
She has written six volumes of Hymns of the Season, which contain graded settings of Lutheran hymns for beginning through intermediate pianists and companion volumes of easy hymn preludes. She has also written two volumes of easy settings of Lutheran liturgies. These resources are available through David’s Harp – A Center for Musical Development.
Grimpo received an undergraduate degree in music education and a certificate in piano pedagogy from Concordia University, Chicago, and an M.M. and D.M.A. in piano performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Lutheran Servanthood School
The Lutheran Servanthood School (LSS) is an educational program whose chief purpose is to assist in the training of qualified lay people to serve as lay deacon or lay deaconess in their home congregations.
LWML 2026
We are the English District of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), a part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).
As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions,
and equip women to honor God by serving others.
Operation Barnabas
LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces
Through this program — the only one of its kind in the U.S. — together with our congregations, we accomplish three key goals:
1. Care for Reserve chaplains and their families and congregations.
2. Train and assist local congregations in the care, support and outreach to all military connected people in their congregations and their communities.
3. Serve as a resource to other organizations that provide care to military connected people.

The Catalina Lutheran Church Life Team invites you and the members of your congregation to our second Sanctity of LIfe into Eternity symposium, to be held at Catalina Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 14, from 10 AM – 5 PM. In it, we consider issues related to aging, retirement, and the end of our earthly lives, all through the lens of the coming resurrection on the Last Day to an eternal life of bliss in the presence of our Triune God. Thus, we have deliberately scheduled this during the All Saints-tide portion of the Church Year. The event is free of charge; we will collect a free-will offering for Lutherans For Life.
